The Wee Blues came out of this game 2-1 deserved winners. They were up against a strong and very well organised Coleraine squad in this league play off game. The Blues started brightly with marauding runs from Michael Lynch and Daniel Wright on the flanks. This pressure paid off when Ronan Young was taken down in the box and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped blues captain Jake Taylor and emphatically slotted the ball into the roof of the net. It was all Blues at this stage but Coleraine hit back on the half with a goal that came from slack defending in the Blues box. The second half started much like the first with Taylor & Kieran Lynch hitting some strong tackles in midfield and not letting their opponents into the game. Pat Joe Trolan made an entrance into the game and what an impact he had running at the Coleraine defence at every opportunity. Conan Mc Aleese came on and scored a belter of a header past the Coleraine keeper after Trolans pinpoint cross after some magnificent teamwork. Shea Murphy had an outstanding game up front as did Aaron Cassidy & Luke mc Mullen in defence. The wee blues play in what could be the title winning game of the season against Bright Stars from Derry city on Saturday KO @ 11am at Spires Park. We would ask all parents, Sky Blues supporters and club members to attend this game if at all possible to cheer the wee Blues on.
Teamwork prevailed lads from Stuarty to the subs that werent used you all done the club proud, every young fella on the panel was made up about this win. Lets keep our feet on the ground and attack Bright Stars as strongly as we did Coleraine.
Cmon the wee Blues
