The Sky Blues U15's ran out winners by four goals to one against Coagh United in their first ever match. Understandably it took the 'Wee Sky Blues' a while to settle, but there were some really promising glimpses of the crisp passing and real team spirit that will be required in a tough season ahead.
The 'Wee Sky Blues' opened the scoring after a fine corner from Barry Murphy that allowed Tomás McLaughlin to steal in at the back and power home a fine header.
Coagh equalised following a mix up in the home team's defence which left the 'Sky Blues' keeper stranded.
The 'Sky Blues' went ahead just before half time as Shane Heavron netted the first of an impressive hat-trick.
The young team continued to press in the second half and Shane Heavron topped off a fine individual display with two more well finished goals.
This result augers well for the season ahead as everyone in the 'Sky Blues' squad contributed to an excellent win.
