The Sky Blues U15 team suffered their first defeat of the season at home to Culmore. The 'Wee Sky Blues' had the worst possible start and were one down in the first couple of minutes, poor marking let Culmore in to score an easy goal. The Sky Blues were two nil down at the break another poorly contested ball allowed Culmore to deservedly increase their lead.
The Sky Blues upped their work rate in the second half and the excellent Ciaran Moore pulled one back with typical dogged determination. The Sky Blues hopes were dashed in the very next Culmore attack, when an offside Culmore attacker headed in at the back post. This effectively put an end to the contest and the final nail was hammered into the coffin when the unfortunate Fintan Kerr could not avoid putting the ball into his own net.
A lack of discipline then crept into the Sky Blues play something that we must nip in the bud as it only has a negative impact on our game.
There were some very hopeful signs in this match and like every match this season the 'Wee Sky Blues' created plently of chances but have yet to develop the ruthless streak required to finish them off.
